Kashmir’s Districts Shiver: Anantnag, Ganderbal, Pulwama Hit -5.5°C Amid Chilly Conditions

Srinagar, Jan 04 (WD): The cold wave in Jammu and Kashmir tightens its grip, maintaining dry weather across the region. In Srinagar, the mercury drops to a bone-chilling -3.8°C, while other notable temperatures include Qazigund at -3.4°C, Pahalgam at -5.1°C, and Gulmarg at -4.2°C. The persistent cold conditions are evident in various districts, with Anantnag, Ganderbal, Pulwama, Bandipora, Baramulla, Budgam, Kulgam, and Shopian reporting temperatures ranging from -2.1°C to -5.5°C.

The Jammu Region experiences its own share of winter chill, with Jammu recording 4.7°C, Banihal dipping to -0.4°C, Katra registering 6.2°C, and Bhaderwah enduring a chilly 1.1°C. Meanwhile, the high-altitude regions face even more severe conditions. Leh in Ladakh bears the brunt of an intense cold spell at -11.0°C, while Kargil and Drass experience harsh temperatures of -9.8°C and -12.1°C, respectively.
