Cash Rewards Unveiled by J&K Police to Combat Terrorism

In a recent announcement, Jammu and Kashmir Police has introduced a comprehensive cash reward system to incentivize individuals providing crucial information and intelligence related to security threats. The rewards are structured as follows:

1. Trans-Border Tunnel Discovery:

• Cash Reward: Rs. 5,00,000/-
• Criteria: Whoever identifies a trans-border tunnel utilized by Anti-National Elements (ANEs) for the transportation of terrorists, explosives, and contraband consignments.

1. Drone-Related Information:

• a. Cash Reward: Rs. 3,00,000/-
  • Criteria: Spotting a drone originating from across the border involved in dropping narcotics or explosive material, leading to material recovery.
• b. Cash Reward: Rs. 2,00,000/-
  • Criteria: Providing actionable intelligence on individuals connected with receiving drone deliveries and/or transporting arms, ammunition, or narcotics from the border/LoC to the hinterland or Punjab.

1. Inter-State Narcotic Modules:

• Cash Reward: Rs. 2,00,000/-
• Criteria: Furnishing information leading to the dismantling of inter-state narcotic modules.

1. Communication with Terrorist Handlers or Separatists:

• Cash Reward: Rs. 2,00,000/-
• Criteria: Reporting individuals communicating with Pakistan-based terrorist handlers or separatists in jails, resulting in successful discovery during investigations.

1. Identification of Persons Communicating with Terrorist Handlers:

• Cash Reward: Rs. 2,00,000/-
• Criteria: Providing information about individuals communicating with terrorist handlers across the border or with their agents within J&K, including branding citizens as informants. Successful corroboration during investigations is essential.

1. Counterterrorism Efforts in Educational Institutions:

• Cash Reward: Rs. 1,00,000/-
• Criteria: Reporting individuals in masjids, madrassas, schools, or colleges encouraging people to join terrorist ranks. The information must be validated during investigations.

1. Terrorist Presence Information:

• Cash Rewards: Rs. 2,00,000/- (Category A), Rs. 1,50,000/- (Category B)
• Criteria: Providing specific information leading to the successful arrest or combat operation against terrorists.

This initiative aims to strengthen national security by involving citizens in the fight against terrorism. The cash rewards are categorized based on the criticality and impact of the provided information. The J&K Police encourages active participation from the public in ensuring a safer and more secure region.
