• A total of 15 earthquakes have occurred in the last 24 hours, ranging from small to medium intensity.
• The most powerful quake, measuring 5.1 in magnitude, struck Padam in Kargil at a depth of 6.2 miles on December 18.
• The smallest, a 1.9 magnitude earthquake, hit Katra in Jammu and Kashmir at 11:28 am on Tuesday.
• No casualties or property damage have been reported across the region.

Back-to-Back Quakes:

• On the preceding day, four consecutive earthquakes rattled the Union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh in less than an hour.
• The National Centre for Seismology reported these earthquakes affecting Kargil in Ladakh and the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Regional Focus:

• The seismic activities have been concentrated in the lower Himalayan region, with exceptions like a 3.6 magnitude earthquake in the Nicobar Island region on Tuesday.

Ladakh:

• Kargil in Ladakh experienced significant seismic activity, including the strongest quake measuring 5.1 in magnitude.
