DGP’s Public Grievance Program Draws 300 in Srinagar Chill, Citizens Laud DGP’s Initiative

Srinagar, Dec 17 (WD):
In the freezing cold of Srinagar, approximately 300 individuals gathered at the Police headquarters for the weekly public grievances redressal camp led by Director General of Police (DGP) R R Swain. Launched just a month ago, this program occurs every Saturday with the goal of promptly resolving citizen concerns and establishing a direct link between the administration and the public.
Ali Muhammad, a participant in the event, stressed the significance of such initiatives in providing relief to people and narrowing the gap between the administration and citizens. He underscored the efficiency of the program, noting that it spared individuals the potential wait of months to secure a meeting with the DGP by facilitating a quicker resolution of grievances.
Sharing his personal experience, Ali Muhammad highlighted the case of his ward, an MBBS student in Pakistan, whose academic future was in jeopardy. He expressed gratitude for the platform, emphasizing how it allows citizens to seek intervention from top authorities in a timely manner.
Bashir Ahmad, another attendee, echoed the sentiment that events like these are essential in facilitating direct interaction between common citizens and top officials. He emphasized the potential of such platforms not only to address individual issues but also to strengthen the connection between the people and the government.
The majority of participants voiced the opinion that the DGP’s grievance redressal system acts as a unifying force for those with broken hearts, offering hope and assistance to those in need. Overall, the event serves as a crucial mechanism for fostering communication, addressing concerns promptly, and enhancing the relationship between the government and the public.
