Dr. Hina Bhat Chairs KVIB Meeting. 100 Cr released as Margin Money generating employment for 36028 individuals

In Srinagar on December 16, Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat, Vice Chairperson of J&K KVIB, led the Performance Review meeting at Sanat Ghar Bemina. The meeting, attended by the Secretary/CEO, senior officers, and District officers, provided insights into the release of Rs. 100 crores Margin Money during the current financial year. This substantial amount has been distributed among 4596 unit holders, thereby creating employment opportunities for 36028 individuals.
The meeting acknowledged the commendable efforts of District Officers in the successful implementation of both the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme and Jammu & Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme. Dr. Bhat emphasized the importance of stakeholder engagement, underlining the need for inclusivity in employment generation programs. She specifically highlighted the significance of providing equal opportunities for all segments of society, with a special focus on marginalized communities, women, and individuals with disabilities.
Furthermore, Dr. Bhat called for synchronized efforts between implementing agencies and banks to ensure the effective percolation of benefits from employment generation programs such as PMEGP and JKREGP among the target population. She reiterated the necessity for these programs to be inclusive, reaching individuals from all walks of life.
The Secretary/CEO of J&K KVIB praised the Board’s efforts in creating employment opportunities in the Union Territory. He emphasized the adoption of a robust monitoring and evaluation framework to ensure the target-oriented implementation of these schemes. Additionally, he stressed the importance of aligning all activities with the overarching goals and objectives of the programs, emphasizing a strategic approach to maximize their impact.(WD)
