Fresh weather update for Kashmir
Kashmir December 03:
As of December 3, Kashmir is experiencing a notable decline in night temperatures, coupled with the absence of any anticipated wet weather until December 10. According to officials from the local Meteorological department, the chill is particularly pronounced in Gulmarg and Pahalgam, where temperatures plummeted to minus 3.6 and minus 2.4 degrees Celsius, respectively. Despite the cold spell, certain regions, including the summer capital, Srinagar, recorded temperatures above freezing, with a minimum of 1.4 degrees Celsius.
In specific areas like Kupwara, the mercury settled at 1.2 degrees Celsius, while Kokernag reported a minimum temperature of 2.6 degrees Celsius. The prevailing weather conditions, characterized by dryness and cloudiness, are expected to persist until at least December 10, as forecasted by meteorologists. This period of uneventful weather may impact local activities and contribute to the overall wintry atmosphere in the Kashmir region. As residents brace for colder nights, the dry spell underscores the onset of winter, shaping the climatic landscape as the calendar year progresses.
