Jammu Glow up as international Cricketers arrive for Legend League Cricket

Jammu is abuzz as international cricket luminaries descend upon the Maulana Azad Stadium for the Legends League Cricket, marking a triumphant return of the sport after a 30-year hiatus. The city’s iconic stadium, dormant since the India-New Zealand match in 1988, will shine under floodlights as cricketing legends from around the globe, including Harbhajan Singh, Aaron Finch, and others, take center stage.
The day-night series kicks off on Monday at 7 pm with a clash between Harbhajan Singh’s Manipal Tigers and Aaron Finch’s Southern Super Stars. Subsequent matches feature teams led by Irfan Pathan, Gautam Gambhir, and Suresh Raina, promising thrilling encounters for fans in this temple-rich city.
Legends League Cricket Co-founder Raman Raheja expressed gratitude for the overwhelming fan response, with half of the stadium’s 20,000 tickets already sold. The support from the Jammu and Kashmir administration, including Lt Governor Manoj Sinha’s expected attendance, adds to the event’s significance.
Over 100 cricketing greats, including Mohammad Kaif, Yusuf Pathan, Shane Watson, Chris Gayle, and more, will grace the matches, elevating the excitement. Security measures are robust, with Inspector General of Police, Jammu zone, Anand Jain, overseeing arrangements for law and order, transportation, and player accommodation.
Jammu’s cricket enthusiasts eagerly anticipate witnessing their idols in action, turning this event into a historic spectacle. The Legends League Cricket Season 2 concludes at Surat’s Lalbhai Contractor Stadium from December 5 to 9, promising a fitting finale to a season that brings international cricketing excellence to the heart of Jammu.
