Breaking Tech News: Google’s AI Feature Set to Transform Chrome Experience
Google Develops AI-Based Tab Organization Feature for Chrome Browser
Tech giant Google is in the process of creating artificial intelligence-driven technology for its web browser, Chrome. The latest development includes an “Advanced” (AI) section on the Chrome Settings page featuring a new option called “Context menu tab group.” Users can toggle the “Organize tabs” feature through this option.
According to a post on the social media platform X (previously Twitter), user Leopeva64 shared that the development of this new settings pane is currently underway. Accessible only to specific testers, users must navigate hidden developer flags to reach this settings menu.
“Google will add a new section called ‘Advanced’ on the Chrome Settings page, where you can enable/disable the new ‘Compose’ and ‘Organize Tabs’ features. For now, the only option that has been added is ‘Autofill Helper’ (Compose),” mentioned the X post, as reported by Gadgetsnow.
The post on X also includes a video illustrating that the new settings section is still in the developmental phase and far from completion.
The anticipated tab organization feature is expected to be incorporated into the testing phase of Google’s current settings pane. In previous instances, this feature was noticed in development as part of the Search tab chevron interface.
Once implemented, Chrome users can expect to see an “organize tabs” button automatically appearing in the settings section after opening a specific number of tabs. This button aims to assist users by sorting their tabs automatically.
While earlier reports did not confirm whether this feature is AI-powered, speculation suggests that if it becomes part of the AI settings, it is likely to be driven by a machine learning algorithm.
