Important Notification: JKBOSE Allows Class 11 Private Candidates to Join Class 12 in Jammu and Kashmir Divisions
In a significant development, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has issued an important notification regarding the shifting of students who successfully passed their Class 11 examinations in private capacity in a special (Supplementary) examination held in December 2022 in the Union Territory of Ladakh.

The Assistant Secretary, Sub-office Leh, reported that 41 candidates achieved success in the Class 11 examinations conducted privately during the special (Supplementary) session in December 2022 in Ladakh. Unfortunately, these students faced challenges in seeking admission to Class 12 for the academic session 2023-24 in Leh district. This was due to all Government Higher Secondary Schools in the district being now affiliated with the CBSE, and no Private Higher Secondary School in Leh District being affiliated with JKBOSE.
Despite the students’ efforts to secure admission to Class 12 in JKBOSE-affiliated schools in Jammu, their requests couldn’t be accommodated due to the lack of provisions in JKBOSE Regulations for Inter-School Migration in favor of candidates who passed their Class 11 examinations in private capacity.
Upon the request of the Assistant Secretary, Sub-office Leh, and a communication from the Director, School Education, Ladakh, the Secretary of JKBOSE was urged to consider providing a special window for inter-school migration for these students as an exceptional case.

1. Students who passed Class 11 privately in Leh, Ladakh, are permitted to seek admission to Class 12 for the session 2023-24.
2. This special case allows these students to choose schools in Jammu Division or Kashmir Division of UT of J&K to pursue their higher studies.
