Winter Vacation Announcement in Kashmir Division

In a recent development, the Directorate of School Education Kashmir, under the Government of Jammu & Kashmir, has issued an official order declaring winter vacations for all government and recognized private schools up to the Higher Secondary Level in the Kashmir Division.
The order, numbered 310 – DSEK of 2023, states that the winter vacation for students up to 8th standard will be observed from 28th November 2023 to 29th February 2024. Meanwhile, students from 9th to 12th standard will have their winter break from 11th December 2023 to 29th February 2024.
The teaching staff is required to return to their respective schools on 21st February 2024 to facilitate preparations for upcoming examinations. Additionally, teachers are expected to be available on demand for online guidance to students during the vacation period.
Strict actions under the rules will be taken against any default by the Head of the Schools or teaching staff in adhering to the specified schedule. This emphasizes the significance of maintaining discipline and ensuring that educational institutions are adequately prepared for the academic activities following the winter break.
The decision aligns with the administrative department’s approval and aims to provide students and educators with a well-deserved respite during the winter months. It also reflects the commitment of the education authorities to ensure a smooth academic calendar, with provisions for teacher support even during the vacation period.
