NC MP Ruhullah Mehdi Advocates for J&K Aspirants, Employees, and Minorities in Lok Sabha

Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Member of Parliament (MP) Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi raised several pressing issues concerning J&K residents in his Lok Sabha address.

Mehdi’s speech emphasized the need for equity and justice, urging immediate governmental intervention on multiple fronts.

He first highlighted the need to relocate NEET exam centers closer to J&K aspirants’ residences, citing logistical and financial hardships.

Mehdi argued that traveling long distances at short notice is a formidable challenge for many aspirants and their families, and sought a considerate approach to make examination centers accessible.

Mehdi also addressed the case of thousands of need-based, contractual, and daily wage employees in J&K, who have crossed the upper age limit, complicating their situation.

He urged the government to formulate a strong policy for their regularization, emphasizing that their long-pending demands are immediate in nature.

Mehdi criticized the recent budgetary decisions, condemning the reduction in funds allocated for minority schemes, particularly the pre-matric scholarship for minorities.

He termed the funding cut as a “blatant act of injustice” and called for immediate action to address these pressing issues.
