Big Update Regarding NEET Re Exam, Check here

The Supreme Court has dismissed pleas seeking cancellation and re-test of the NEET-UG 2024 exam, citing lack of evidence for systemic leak of question papers and malpractices.

A bench led by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud heard submissions from various lawyers, including Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, over four days before delivering the verdict.

The court acknowledged that question paper leaks did occur in Hazaribagh and Patna but found no material to conclude that the entire exam was vitiated.

The decision affects over two million students who took the exam on May 5, and the court prioritized their future in making its ruling.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) and Union education ministry faced criticism and protests from students over alleged malpractices, including question paper leaks and impersonation.

Despite these concerns, the court found no evidence of systemic breach or widespread malpractices that would warrant canceling the exam.

The NEET-UG 2024 exam was conducted at 4,750 centers in 571 cities, including overseas locations, for admissions to medical and related courses.

A detailed judgment will follow, but for now, the results of NEET-UG 2024 stand, bringing relief to students who can now proceed with their admissions.
