Will adopt Kashmir model to wipe-out militancy in Jammu: LG Manoj Sinha

Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha stated that the security forces will adopt the “Kashmir model” to counter the revival of terrorism in the Jammu region. He emphasized that the people of Jammu have never supported terrorism and have always stood against it.

According to Sinha, J&K has undergone a significant transformation in the past four to five years. He highlighted that peace prevails in Kashmir’s ten districts, and young boys and girls are shaping their future in innovations and other sectors such as agriculture.

The LG attributed the prevailing peace in J&K to the efforts of the security forces. He mentioned that the adversary is feeling unnerved by the transformation in J&K.

Sinha emphasized that efforts are being made to revive terrorism in the Jammu region, but the security forces will not allow it. He stated that the “Kashmir model” will be adopted to wipe out terrorism in Jammu, just like it was done in Kashmir.

The LG highlighted the achievements of the youth in J&K, stating that 540 boys and girls are becoming entrepreneurs daily. He also mentioned that a total of 840 start-ups have come up in J&K, of which 265 are run by young women.

Sinha’s statement comes on a day when Army Chief General Upendera Dwivedi is arriving in Jammu to chair a high-level security review meeting. This meeting is being held in the wake of a surge in terrorist attacks on the army, including the recent killing of four soldiers in the Doda district.

In the past 32 months, 48 soldiers have been killed in action in J&K. Sinha emphasized that the security forces will not allow the revival of terrorism in Jammu at any cost.

The LG concluded by highlighting the transparency in the government recruitment process in J&K. He stated that not a single person was appointed based on influence, and children of cart pullers, vegetable vendors, and street vendors have got government jobs for the first time.
