Fire Incidents Gut Clinical Laboratory and Residential House in Central Kashmir
Budgam, May 27, WD: Two separate fire incidents have left significant damage in the Beerwah area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district, destroying a clinical laboratory, a gym center, an advocate’s chamber, and a residential house.
The first incident occurred during the pre-dawn hours on Monday, engulfing a building outside Beerwa Hospital. This building housed a clinical laboratory, a gym center, and an advocate’s chamber, all of which were severely damaged by the fire.
Adil Ahmed, the proprietor of the clinical laboratory, reported that the fire destroyed all his equipment and supplies. “I started this private clinical laboratory in 2019 after securing a loan from a bank and today I lost everything,” Ahmed lamented. He has appealed for assistance from the government and the general public to recover from this devastating loss.
The building where the fire occurred is owned by Zafar Hussain Banday, a resident of Beerwa. The exact cause of the fire remains unknown, but local authorities have launched an investigation. Police have registered a case and are working to determine the cause of the blaze.
In a separate incident, another fire broke out at the residential house of Shabir Ahmed Paul in Charmajroo village, also part of Beerwah. This fire, attributed to a short circuit, resulted in the complete gutting of the house.
Both incidents have caused significant distress in the community, highlighting the vulnerability of properties to fire hazards. The loss of the clinical laboratory is particularly impactful, as it served an essential role in the local healthcare infrastructure.
