Case Filed Against Apni Party Member Mudasir Aziz for Using ‘Foul Language’ on Social Media

Srinagar, May 15: A legal case has been initiated against Mudasir Bashir Bhat, also known as Mudasir Aziz, a member of the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party, for allegedly using foul language on social media. The case was filed by Advocate Fayaz Ahmad Lone before the court of Judicial Magistrate Pampore.

The complainant, Advocate Fayaz Ahmad Lone, hails from Pampore and has alleged that Mudasir Bashir Bhat’s use of obscene language on social media has caused annoyance to the general public and to him personally. The lawyer contends that this behavior constitutes an offense under Section 294 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Section 294 of the IPC deals with obscene acts and songs, penalizing anyone who does an obscene act in a public place or sings, recites, or utters any obscene song, ballad, or words in or near any public place, causing annoyance to others. The section aims to curb public indecency and maintain public decorum.

According to sources, the complaint specifies that the words used by Mudasir Bashir Bhat during his online interactions were not only inappropriate but also offensive to the sensibilities of the general public and users of the social media platform. This, the complainant asserts, necessitates legal action to uphold public decency.

Advocate Fayaz Ahmad Lone has appealed to the court to investigate the matter thoroughly. He has urged the authorities to take appropriate legal measures against Mudasir Bashir Bhat to ensure that such behavior is not repeated and to serve as a deterrent to others.

The case has garnered attention given Mudasir Bashir Bhat’s recent affiliation with the J&K Apni Party, raising questions about the conduct of public figures and their responsibilities in maintaining ethical standards on social media platforms.

The complainant’s move reflects broader concerns about the increasing use of offensive language on social media and the impact it has on societal norms and public order. By seeking judicial intervention, Advocate Lone aims to set a precedent that upholds the rule of law and deters individuals from engaging in similar behavior online.

The court of Judicial Magistrate Pampore is expected to examine the complaint and determine the appropriate course of action based on the evidence presented. This case highlights the ongoing challenges in regulating social media conduct and the role of the judiciary in addressing such issues.
