Night Temp Rises Amid Dry Weather Forecast Till May 10, Rain On Weekend In J&K

Dry weather is forecasted in Jammu and Kashmir until May 10, with a possibility of thunderstorms during the afternoon. Night temperatures have risen across the region, indicating a shift in weather patterns. However, from May 11 and 12, light rain in the plains and snow in higher reaches are expected at many places.

The meteorological department advises farmers to suspend farm operations during May 11 and 12 due to the expected weather conditions. Additionally, moderate rain is likely in some areas on May 12. From May 13 onwards, partly to generally cloudy weather with light rain is expected in a few places, followed by generally dry weather from May 14 to 17.

In terms of temperature, Srinagar recorded a low of 12.4°C, slightly above normal for this time of the year. Qazigund, Pahalgam, and Kokernag also experienced temperatures above normal, indicating warmer conditions. However, Kupwara recorded a temperature slightly below normal.

Gulmarg, famous for skiing, recorded a minimum temperature above normal, highlighting the warmer weather in the region. Meanwhile, Jammu recorded a low of 26.5°C, significantly above normal for the winter capital of J&K. Other areas like Banihal, Batote, and Bhaderwah also experienced relatively warm temperatures.

Overall, the forecast suggests a mix of dry and wet weather conditions across Jammu and Kashmir in the coming days. Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and take necessary precautions, especially during periods of rainfall and thunderstorms.
