J&K police Arrested Father-Daughter for Drug Peddling in JK: Police

In Samba, Jammu and Kashmir, police have apprehended two individuals suspected of drug smuggling. The police team, led by the Station House Officer (SHO), encountered the suspects during a patrol in the Rakh Barotain area. The individuals, identified as Roshan Din and Payaro Bibi, attempted to flee upon noticing the police presence but were swiftly apprehended.

Upon searching the suspects, police discovered approximately 5.20 grams of heroin and Rs 1,77,260 in cash in their possession. The detained individuals, revealed to be a father-daughter duo, admitted to their involvement in drug trafficking in the locality. Both suspects are residents of Rakh Barotain in Samba.

A case has been registered against the suspects under Sections 8, 21, 22, 27-A, and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Vijaypur police station. An investigation into the matter is currently underway to ascertain further details and any potential accomplices in their drug trafficking activities.

The apprehension of these drug smugglers underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat the menace of drug trafficking in the region. The seizure of heroin and cash highlights the seriousness of the issue and the need for continued vigilance and action against such criminal activities.
