Court denies Bail of Man who stalked & harrased Women at Kashmir
Baramulla, Jan 25 (WD):
A court in Uri has dismissed the bail application of Ishfaq Ahmad from NalusahMohara Boniyar, accused of stalking and harassing a girl in North Kashmir. The Court of Judicial Magistrate Ist Class, Fozia Paul, emphasized that the investigation was in its early stages, and there were concerns about the accused repeating the offense.
Counsel for the accused argued that the case was registered against Ishfaq based on a “false, baseless, fabricated, and malicious” complaint by the police station Uri. However, the prosecution resisted the bail plea, asserting that the accused was involved in non-bailable offenses of a heinous nature, making him ineligible for bail as a matter of right.
The court, after hearing both sides, stated that the investigation was incomplete, awaiting the report from the FSL. Given the serious allegations of stalking, harassment, and threats, releasing the accused on bail at this stage could adversely affect the case and pose a risk of tampering with witnesses or absconding. The victim had also claimed that the accused had been uploading videos of her on social media, posing a serious threat to her dignity.
