Kashmiri Youth’s Demise in Saudi Arabia: J&K Students Association Appeals to EAM Jaishankar, LG Sinha for Repatriation

Srinagar, Jan 16: The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association has reached out to External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, seeking assistance in repatriating the mortal remains of a Kashmiri youth who passed away in Saudi Arabia.

According to the Association’s Chairman, Mushtaq Habeeb, Shakir Ahmad Wani from Mughalpora Pulwama suffered a cardiac arrest in Saudi Arabia, where he was employed by Abdullah Albakar and Abdul Aziz Almetrek Company in Riyadh.

The statement emphasizes the family’s need for support in bringing back Wani’s mortal remains, urging the Ministry of External Affairs and the Lieutenant Governor-led administration to facilitate the repatriation.

Aadil Bhat, National Spokesperson of the Association, mentioned that they have approached Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to expedite the repatriation process, offering solace to the grieving family. He expressed optimism, stating that assurances have been received, and the mortal remains are expected to be brought back within the next two days.
